Joining Northbourne

At Northbourne, we are delighted to welcome all children and families who share our vision of Nurturing Excellence and our values of Courage, Compassion, and Community. We are proud to provide a caring, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment where every child is encouraged to thrive—academically, socially, and personally.

Our admissions process follows the statutory requirements set out in the School Admissions Code and is managed in partnership with Oxfordshire County Council. We are committed to ensuring that admissions are fair, transparent, and inclusive for all applicants, regardless of background, faith, ability, or need.

We admit children into our Reception class in the academic year they turn five. Applications should be made through the Oxfordshire Admissions Service, in accordance with the published timetable for primary school admissions. Further information about application deadlines, appeals, and in-year admissions can be found on the https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/schools/apply-school-place

At Northbourne, we value each child as an individual. Guided by our values:

  • Courage encourages children and families to embrace new beginnings with confidence.

  • Compassion ensures that every child is welcomed with warmth, kindness, and respect.

  • Community reflects our belief that we learn best when we belong, contribute, and grow together.

Whether joining us in Reception or at another point in their school journey, every child is supported to succeed and to experience the joy of learning within a nurturing, inclusive community.

Remember: You should apply for a school place by 15 January 2026 to start Reception during the 2026/27 academic year.
