I am passionate about ensuring that every child at Northbourne has access to excellent teaching and that through collaborative working, we build a community where every child can reach their full potential. I have been a school governor for eight years and I was a school parent for ten years. During the working week, I am a fundraising leader in the international development sector. I’m delighted to be Chair of Governors and to lead such an enthusiastic and committed team.
I am pleased to have been a governor at Northbourne for the past six years. I have worked within education, youth work and play work for over twenty years and currently work as Assistant Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead at a large secondary school. I look forward to contributing towards the ongoing success of the school.
I have been a teacher at Northbourne since 2010, working in various classes in both KS1 and KS2. I am SENCo and Deputy Headteacher. I appreciate seeing the broader picture which being a governor brings and also the opportunity it gives to further support the school.
I became a Parent Governor in September 2019, and renewed for another governing term in September 2023. I have two children at Northbourne, and I can see in their development what an excellent school Northbourne is at nurturing its pupils and instilling a love of learning. As a governing body, we want to help all children educated at Northbourne reach their full potential, and I hope to continue to contribute to that goal.
In my day job, I am a Group Leader at STFC, managing teams that support scientists in carrying out ground breaking research. I want to bring the knowledge and skills I have gained at STFC to help anyway I can in my role as Governor for Northbourne
I thoroughly enjoy working alongside the dedicated governing and staff team at Northbourne to help the school community grow and develop, helping to ensure that every child benefits from a full and enriching primary experience. I have a son in year 2 who is thriving at the school and two older children who have moved on to secondary schools after gaining a fantastic primary education at Northbourne.
I work as a relationship counsellor for Relate and the NHS and have experience in counselling, family support and group work with young carers, children affected by abuse and young people living with disability or special educational needs (SEN). I bring this experience to my role as SEN governor.
II was very pleased to join the Northbourne governing body as a Foundation Governor in September 2022. It is a privilege to contribute to the life of the school and support its mission to provide a nurturing environment rooted in Christian values.
As an experienced primary teacher, I bring a good understanding of the day-to-day challenges and opportunities within education. I have a particular interest in Religious Education and staff well-being—two areas I believe are essential to creating a thriving school culture. Through my role as a governor, I really enjoy working collaboratively with staff and the rest of the governing body to support the school.
I am delighted to be joining the Governing Body at Northbourne. I have a child in Year 6 and I work locally as a Deputy Headteacher. I bring experience in school leadership, safeguarding, and pastoral care, and I am looking forward to working with the school community to support the continued success of Northbourne and the children who learn here.
I am very pleased to join the Northbourne governing body. I have two children at the school and one who I hope will join when he is old enough. It has been wonderful to watch them learn and develop under the care and guidance of Northbourne and its staff over the last few years.
In my day job, I am a director of marketing and communications, working in the highly regulated financial services sector. I hope to be able to bring this experience to the role, providing both support and challenge to the leadership team to enable the ongoing delivery of the school’s vision.
